NUS Dance Blast! was founded in 2001 by passionate individuals who wish to spread their love for hip hop to the rest of the student body. Today, Blast! is the largest street dance group in NUS with more than 100 members selected through strict auditions each year.

At the helm is Resident Choreographer Patrick Loo AKA 'Tricky P', a much celebrated exponent of hip hop dance who has more than 15 years of experience in the dance scene. Under his artistic direction, Blast! trains to develop their own distinct dance style that fuses hip hop dance and funk with specialised techniques such as waving, popping and locking.

Beyond merely preparing for their performances, through intense training workshops, regular rehearsals and practices, the members of NUS Dance Blast! also learn the value of commitment, creativity and community.
