Ahmad Kamil

Artistic Director and Resident Choreographer

At the helm is Principal Tutor Ahmad Kamil, a celebrated performer, choreographer and director. Kamil constantly challenges his artistic boundaries as he develops and shapes his artistic voice as seen through his creation of multiple dance productions locally and as well as overseas. Under his artistic direction, Kamil was the Top 10 nominees in the Lion City Dance Film Festival 2022. He has also achieved championships in competitions since 2006.

Kamil is the current Artistic Director of Six.5, the first hip hop dance company in Singapore. As a director, he is constantly intrigued by the beauty and honest nature of human emotions and gestures. This is reflected in his 2019’s production – “TI:ME” that was staged at Victoria Theatre, Singapore (2019). Under his tutelage, members of Blast! train to develop their dance styles that fuses various elements of street dance. Versatility is celebrated, and every dancer is encouraged to explore different forms and disciplines.

Grounded with foundations of street dance, the group fuses different elements of the various genres and elements of creation to push their own boundaries.
