NUS Lion Dance

Formed in 1985 by a group of five undergraduates with a deep interest in this traditional art form, NUS Lion Dance is the oldest university-level lion dance troupe in Singapore. The group would take part in many institutional and national level competitions, and performances during the Lunar New Year festive season and throughout the year, both on and off campus.

NUS Lion Dance’s mission is to preserve the traditional and cultural aspects of lion dance while developing and cultivating appreciation for it as an art form among people of all ages and races. Simultaneously, they aim to achieve national recognition as a lion dance group that embodies skill, passion, and creativity.
