Did you know that hundreds of pianos are being thrown away or remain unused in homes every year?
A significant number of people outgrow playing on a piano, leaving their instruments to collect dust or be discarded.
Play-It-Forward SG is a home-grown movement started by Billy, Jean & Yan (alumni of NUS Piano Ensemble), where they take in donated pianos and transform them into public art installations for everyone to enjoy.
NUS Centre For the Arts is expanding this movement in NUS. We are looking to add two additional pianos to be placed in various faculties around campus. There are currently pianos located in University Town and MD11, and two more to be placed at Techno Edge and Central Library soon.
We’re looking for student artists to collaborate with us to create unique artwork to deck out our community instruments.
