For students

CFA’s programming and activities are designed to broaden perspectives, enhance creativity and expand the breadth of creative opportunities on campus. Students are at the centre of all CFA activities.

“Arts plays a quintessential role in education that is set to grow into the future for NUS.”

‘Arts For All’ framework

The ‘Arts For All’ (AFA) framework aims to enhance the student life experience at NUS, as well as support and encourage greater participation in the arts, which is an integral component of the University’s push for interdisciplinary teaching and learning.

Designed based on the principles of collaboration and outreach, AFA provides a diverse range of artistic learning opportunities under four categories to enable students to experience the arts in a manner best suited to their developmental objectives, interests, and levels of commitment.

Take the stage

Everyone has a story, and we can help set the stage for you. Whether it’s for the NUS Arts Festival, the HERE! Arts Carnival, ExxonMobil Campus Concerts or an independent production, speak to our CFA Team about making your proposal a reality.

In many cases, CFA supported productions are buoyed with production, equipment, venue and marketing support. We may also be able to critique your proposal or recommend further partners to expand your vision.

Forge your own path

Whether you’re an independent artist, producer or committed amateur, there are several grants and scholarships available that could help support your creative journey at NUS or beyond.

If you are hoping to stage your own performance, CFA manages stages and spaces in numerous locations around the campus and also has the production crew and equipment that could make your vision take form. We would also be happy to include it in our online calendar.

Develop career skills, intern with us

Each division of CFA offers internships throughout the year. While primarily based in one area, CFA interns will have exposure to the whole spectrum of a career in the arts, ranging from the performing arts, to heritage and cultural management.

Catch a show

Professional productions, student shows, workshops, masterclasses, panel discussions, walking tours, exhibitions and more are all regularly added to the online calendar. Many events are free and most are exclusive to NUS.

If you’ve heard about an arts event on campus that isn’t in our calendar, please let us know so we can help promote it.

Connect with the industry

Most productions, exhibitions and other events organised by CFA have input from creative professionals and/or thought leaders from around the region. Participating in conferences, attending talks and workshops can give you direct access to our partners along with unique insight into their processes and conceptual approach.

Become an insider

If you’re passionate about the arts, then consider becoming a CFA Ambassador to help grow the arts on campus, contribute to major events and work with industry professionals.

Alternatively, you can join Friends of CFA to be the first to know about the biggest events and get exclusive perks. Friends get free tickets to industry shows, backstage tours, priority discounts for the NUS Arts Festival and regular catered meetups.
