Join Sparkle Guitar Ensemble on a journey of self-discovery towards freedom, told through familiar Japanese anime and video game tunes.
Epiphany – A Journey to Freedom tells a narrative of one’s realisation of the bonds placed upon oneself by misfortune or the actions of others. It then follows the subsequent desire for release and the journey to attain true freedom both physically and spiritually.
Heavily featuring arrangements by our members of Japanese video game and anime soundtracks adapted for guitar ensemble, the concert will feature a narrator weaving pieces together to tell a tale of freedom and self-discovery. Apart from the standard Niibori ensemble, Epiphany also includes other special instrumentation and chamber-sized performances.

Found in 2022, Sparkle Guitar Ensemble is a collaborative effort between passionate young guitarists from NUS and SMU. Sparkle Guitar Ensemble is a fledgling group aiming to develop, promote and explore the Niibori guitar art form through music creation and performance. It seeks to make Niibori more approachable for the public by arranging and performing contemporary works from video game and anime soundtracks with Niibori instrumentation, as well as performing traditional Japanese Niibori repertoire on a variety of platforms.
