Founded in 1981, NUS Harmonica aims to promote harmonica performance as a unique and versatile art form, by showcasing the distinct sounds that can be produced by harmonicas of different pitches and tones.
Through an extensive and ever-expanding repertoire, the group strives to establish connections with its audience and increase their appreciation for the harmonica. The group also explores diverse styles of presenting harmonica music, with performances that incorporate solo, ensemble and orchestral items. The group performs in two annual concert series, Impressions and Soirée, held in October and March respectively.
NUS Harmonica firmly believes in providing holistic music education for all its members. In line with this mission, the group provides structured training programmes for members with different levels of experience, to enable members to reach their full potential. In particular, our tailored programme for newcomers equips them with fundamental harmonica techniques and music theory knowledge.
