NUS Dance Blast! was founded in 2001 by passionate individuals who wished to spread their love for hip hop to the rest of the student body. Today, Blast! is the largest street dance group in NUS with close to 100 members selected through strict auditions each year.

At the helm is Resident Choreographer Patrick Loo AKA 'Tricky P', a much celebrated exponent of hip hop dance who has more than 15 years of experience in the dance scene. Under his artistic direction, members of Blast! train to develop their own distinct dance style that fuses hip hop dance with other elements such as waving, popping and locking. Versatility is celebrated, as each and every dancer is free to explore to their hearts’ desire.

Beyond preparing for performances, the members of NUS Dance Blast! embrace the value of commitment, creativity and community through a multitude of rigorous workshops and rehearsals.
