“During the period of this entire internship, under the guidance of the production services staff, I have learnt about theatre work as well as the work at the front end through first hand experience.
Through the various events I have been in, I have learnt how to operate the lighting board to warm up lights as well as call the different lights. I have learnt the importance of sound checks before and after batteries are placed in. Moreover, I have learnt the importance of having spatial awareness during the set up for the event as well as the teardown, and more importantly, to ask before doing anything.
What I have gained from this internship is beneficial as I have learnt to always check and not assume that things are working, lest they fail to operate. Moreover, I have learnt the importance of spatial awareness as not having spatial awareness can be a safety issue.”
