NUS Museum
NUS Museum is offering internship opportunities for 10 NUS students undergraduate and graduate students keen on exploring museum work across our Curatorial, Outreach, and Collection units as part of the Internship Programme. This paid position will require interns to work in the unit of their choosing within the Museum and, additionally, develop and execute a curatorial gesture as a group for the upcoming academic year.
Shortlisted applicants will participate in a four-week Museum Lab every Monday and Friday from 27 May to 23 June. The Museum Lab will provide interns with a foundational knowledge of visual cultures, museum practice and the skills necessary to develop and execute a curatorial gesture within their groups. Upon completion of the Museum Lab, interns will be grouped into two groups of 5 to work towards developing and executing 2 separate curatorial projects in the coming semester. This is in addition to the internship duties assigned by respective supervisors.
This internship is three months long, from 27 May to 16 August. At the discretion of the intern’s supervisor, the internship may be extended into the next academic year. Interns should expect to work on Saturdays when required and may be called back during other programmes on an ad-hoc basis.
During the vacation period, students will be paid a maximum of $800 monthly at $12/hour. For all students, hours worked are strictly capped during the vacation period at 44 hours maximum per week.
