[Online Talk] Heritage Futures – The NUS Baba House

Online Session on Zoom: 15 Jul 2022, 10:00 am

Several questions intersect in this emerging issue of heritage futures. How may the memorialisation of pasts influence the making of urban futures? What futures do heritage places and artefacts offer as society and culture evolve? What future-oriented affects are possible beyond nostalgia, reverence, and redemption?

This discussion between Associate Professor Daniel Goh and NUS Baba House Programmes Manager Clara Ang will speculate on these inquiries, while offering the House as a unique case study situated between collective memories and a forward-looking university. By considering the intersection of different heritage stakeholders across institutions and communities, the talk will articulate the overlapping concerns and influences surrounding methods to facilitate the appreciation, reflection, and research into culture and heritage in the context of Singapore and beyond.

This programme is organised as part of the NUS Museum Summer Series
