This prep-room DRILLS is a preliminary activation of the space, where the four collaborators (Goi Yong Chern, Lin Derong, Ian Mun, and Wong Zi Hao), as well as NUS Museum curators (Siddharta Perez and Nurul Kaiyisah), are present to spontaneous and organic deliberations, conversations, and ideas arising from this first wave of public interaction. Here, the artists’ research processes and studio-in-progress evolutions are placed within an open-ended framework to reveal inquiries into methods, subjectivities, and sites converging at landscapes.
The DRILLS will unfold in two parts:
1PM-2PM: By-registration-only guided tour for a maximum of 10 pax that includes a detailed walk-through of the space (more details in the advisory above).
2PM-2.30PM: Gallery closed for cleaning.
Advisory:
- There is a limited capacity of 10 pax for the guided tour at 1PM. Please register on Eventbrite first in order to secure your slot. Once 10 pax has been reached, you will be put on the waitlist and notified via email if a slot is released. If you are unable to make it for your slot, please cancel your booking via Eventbrite, or email us so that we can release it to others.
- The open studio is only open for all walk-ins from 2.30PM onwards, until an accrued total of 50 pax visitors have been reached across the day, or when the Museum closes at 6PM (whichever comes first). Please note that there may be some waiting time involved as only 5 pax are allowed in the gallery space at any given point in time.
- The Museum entrance will be partially blocked by some hoarding (for maintenance purposes). You can still enter via the Alice Lee Plaza by following the signages.
- The Ng Eng Teng: 1+1=1 exhibition will be closed on this day to accommodate the tour + open studio.
- Under the current Vaccination Differentiated Safe Management Measures (VDS), individuals will only be allowed to enter the NUS Museum premises in group sizes of up to 5 persons if all are vaccinated.
- All visitors will be required to show their proof of vaccination status and undergo mandatory contact tracing through TraceTogether app or token.
