As a member of NUS Centre For the Arts, NUS Chinese Orchestra (NUSCO) is an active amateur orchestra in the local Chinese music scene.

NUSCO has an extensive performance history of showcasing instrumental soloists, chamber groups and medium-sized ensembles, with the core orchestra boasting well over 80 musicians. Under the guidance of the Music Director and Resident Conductor Mr. Moses Gay, and the tutelage of professional tutors, the Orchestra aims to explore a diverse range of repertoire, from traditional to contemporary works by local and overseas composers. By engaging young musicians through workshops and masterclasses, NUSCO seeks to develop a lifelong appreciation for Chinese Orchestral music amongst youths and to contribute to the growth of the community.

NUS Chinese Orchestra brings familiar tunes for the young and old, telling the stories of Asia. Join us in celebrating the colours of the Chinese Orchestra with Hokkien folk tunes such as 《望春风 (Longing for the Spring Breeze), 《烧肉粽》(Sio Ba Zhang) and through the lively, rhythmic tone of《丝绸之路》(Silkroad) that brings us through Central Asia. The showcase includes contemporary Chinese orchestral music 《太阳颂 第一乐章 踏江》(Ode to the Sun Movement 1),《台湾追想曲》(Taiwan Capriccio), and animation music, Pokemon Medley.
